Longchamp Le Pliage Le Filet Mesh Bag

The Longchamp Le Pliage Le Filet Mesh bag takes inspiration from our Grandmother’s mesh shopping bags, and is a collaboration between 2 kinds of expertise: French Maison Longchamp and French net manufacturer Filt. The mesh shopping bag incorporates the iconic Le Pliage cowhide top handle and flap, and high quality netting created by Filt.

Whilst the Le Filet Mesh Bag was designed to be used as a shopping bag to carry oranges, apples and other groceries, the bag has attracted mass attention on social media and is used by Longchamp lovers worldwide as an every day handbag in the Summer months. The Le Filet is certainly against the ordinary, and looks very chic and striking particularly in Longchamp’s brighter colours, however it does carry one main problem – the holes!

The safety of your belongings can be put at risk when using the Longchamp Le Pliage Le Filet, as there is a possibility of smaller items ‘slipping through the net‘. To combat this, Longchamp line their Le Filet bags with their own silk scarves, to cover the holes and to add a beautiful pop of colour to the overall look. Whilst this may be lovely on the eye, it becomes very time consuming to correctly and safely insert the scarf, and can be quite a complicated process.
